Chat shorthand, or chat acronyms, are used a lot to communicate quickly, and are also used for text messages (SMS). For example, you use the shorthand ‘pls’ instead of typing out ‘please’ or use ‘btw’ for ‘by the way’.

Here’s some more shorthand:

2nite: tonight
abt2: about to
asap: as soon as possible
b4: before
b4n: bye for now
bcoz: because
brb: be right back
gtg: got to go
gr8: great
lol: laughing out loud, or lots of love
meh: whatever
rofl: rolling on floor laughing
zzz: sleeping, bored, tired
